Hello and Welcome to another fantastic year as the TCU Titans!
This is my 21st year teaching mathematics in Montgomery and I love working here. I attended Saint John's University for my Mathematics degree and then the University of Minnesota for graduate studies in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Mathematics Education.
I am married and have four children. I have two sons attending Saint John's University and my other two children currently attend school in the TCU district. I believe that this is a great place to live, learn, and raise a family.
I have been the Senior High Knowledge Bowl coach for the past 19 years. Our recent successes include trips to the state tournament in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and most recently in 2016 where we took 5th place in Class A State competition! I look forward to a successful season this year as well.
I am here to help the students of this district develop a strong background in mathematics. We may even find out that mathematics can be a whole lot of fun.
Beginning with the 2014-2015 School year, I implemented a Flipped Classroom Model in both Pre-Calculus and Geometry. Flipped classrooms involve students watching lessons online and then focusing the majority of classroom time working on homework problems with the instructor. This is the latest trend in mathematics education and has yielded great results in other school districts. I will be using the TCU Moodle website for students to view lectures, course materials, and practice exams. Homework, tests and quizzes will take place both on paper and on the Moodle site.
Homework calendars are located on the course moodle site and Guest Access is available.
The guest access code for all classes is : TCUGuest.
