Pride Press - School Newspaper Meetings: Every Tuesday after school until 4:00 p.m. in Ms. Conway’s room.
Student Council Meeting: Tuesday, October 23rd at 7:30 a.m. in Mr. Hollom’s room. There will be goodies!
Speech Team Interest Meeting for 7-12 Grades: The Speech Team will have an evening interest meeting for students and parents on Monday, October 22nd at 5:45 in room B104 at the high school. Please come by to find out what speech is about, ask any questions you have, and learn how to register. If you cannot attend, but still want the information, email me (Ms. Alberg) at .
Unity Day & Mix It Up @ Lunch: In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, we invite all students and staff to participate in Unity Day on Wednesday, October 24th. On this day, staff and students nationwide are asked to wear orange to show that we stand together against bullying and are united for kindness and inclusion. You can find more information here.
Also on this day, we will be participating in Mix It Up At Lunch Day. It is an international campaign started by Teaching Tolerance that encourages students to get out of their comfort zone in the lunchroom by crossing social boundaries and connecting with other students. Student are encouraged to sit at a different lunch table in a quest to get to know other students in their grade.
Invent it. Build it. (This is not a school sponsored event)
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Girl Scouts River Valley, WGBH -Design Squad Global, Techbridge and the ExxonMobil Foundation will host the 9th annual Invent it. Build it. at the Society of Women Engineers annual conference.
This traveling conference will be making this year's stop at The Minneapolis Convention Center on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 from 9am-4pm. This event is open to girls in grades 6-12, parents, and educators. Registration is limited, required and closes on October 13th.
Tickets for girls (grades 6-12) are $7 each and $5 for Parent/Educator Program. Lunch and t-shirts are included. If you have questions, contact Darcy Andersen at 312.596.5230 or .

Halloween Parade K-4th Grades: Wednesday, October 31st at 2:00 p.m. in the Commons Gym. Parents are welcome to sit in the bleachers and take pictures. Please make sure that costumes are appropriate for school. Please no masks, blood, fake/real weapons, etc.
Halloween Dress Up for 6th - 8th Grades: 5th - 8th Graders are invited to dress up in costume on Wednesday, October 31st. Costumes must be school appropriate. Please no masks, blood, fake/real weapons, etc.
Veteran’s Day Program: Friday, November 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the large gym. All community members are invited to attend and honor our local Veterans.
7/8 AVID Reminder: Tri-City United Middle School’s AVID classes will be attending a field trip to The National College Fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday, October 24th. Permission slips must be completed and returned to your AVID elective teacher by Friday, October 12th.
Gustavus Volleyball Clinic: Sunday, December 2 at Gustavus; Flyers with more detailed information are in the display by Patti’s window.
October is College Knowledge Month and Bullying Prevention Month: To support our college-going culture, we invite all students and staff to show off their favorite college apparel EVERY THURSDAY for the rest of the school year! Please encourage students to participate!
